Jakarta, March 17, 2022 – Shipper, an integrated digital logistics and warehouse technology company (e-commerce enabler), is eager to facilitate Yayasan Rumah Zakat in handling the increasing distribution of donations and goods before and during Ramadan as an effort to accelerate the empowerment of 1.5 million beneficiaries affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, from Aceh to Papua.
Shipper and Yayasan Rumah Zakat agreed to enter into strategic cooperation by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 in Jakarta. In addition to facilitating the distribution of donations, Shipper also provides assistance for the empowerment acceleration of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) fostered by Yayasan Rumah Zakat. The assistance is carried out through training programs, community empowerment, and #SaatnyaTumbuhBersama program initiated by Yayasan Rumah Zakat.
The assistance provided by Yayasan Rumah Zakat in 2021 has lifted 15% of beneficiaries out of poverty. The partnership with Shipper will help Yayasan Rumah Zakat reach the target of lifting 20% of beneficiaries out of poverty this year by distributing even more assistance through over 300 of Shipper’s warehouses spread in 35 cities across the country. Yayasan Rumah Zakat hopes that there will be a 30% to 40% increase in the distribution of donations during this year’s Ramadan through synergy and collaboration with Shipper.
Budi Handoko, COO and Co-Founder of Shipper said, “Through #TemanKamuBerjuang program, Shipper shares the same passion as Yayasan Rumah Zakat to accelerate community empowerment, especially those impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. We will help Yayasan Rumah Zakat achieve its target of lifting 20% of beneficiaries out of poverty this year by distributing assistance through more than 300 of our warehouses, facilitating training programs for fostered MSMEs, supporting community empowerment, as well as supporting #SaatnyaTumbuhBersama Ramadan program.”
In the MoU on “The Collaboration of Social Activities, Specifically in the Logistics and Warehouse Solutions Sector”, Shipper agrees to establish a number of strategic cooperation with Yayasan Rumah Zakat, as follows:
- Shipper becomes a partner of Yayasan Rumah Zakat by facilitating the distribution of donations and social assistance through digital logistics and warehouse services which are currently spread across 35 cities throughout Indonesia.
- Shipper accelerates the increase in the status of MSMEs fostered by Yayasan Rumah Zakat that are currently spread across 1,695 villages in 33 provinces by facilitating an online training program about business skills, especially digital warehouse, and providing a forum for MSMEs to expand their market through events such as MSMEs Festival.
- Shipper, as a partner, supports Yayasan Rumah Zakat in implementing the community development program.
- Shipper will also support campaigns organized by Yayasan Rumah Zakat, especially this year’s Ramadan program of #SaatnyaTumbuhBersama.
Besides, along with the increasing demand for various needs before Ramadan, particularly halal products, MSMEs fostered by Rumah Zakat could leverage Shipper’s online logistics and warehouse services. To date, Shipper has operated five (5) warehouses that have met halal criteria in Java, Sumatra, and Sulawesi, which can fulfill the warehouse-related needs of Rumah Zakat. Operational activities in the warehouses have been carried out by carefully taking into account the halal standards.
Nur Efendi, CEO of Rumah Zakat, explained, “In line with Shipper’s #TemanKamuBerjuang spirit, Rumah Zakat welcomes Shipper as a reliable and effective partner in empowering Indonesia through #SaatnyaTumbuhBersama program. By embracing the spirit of Ramadan that is full of blessings, we cooperate with Shipper as a digital logistics and warehouse partner to bring goodness and happiness to our brothers and sisters in need.”
